About the Author

Ted Morrissey’s novel excerpts, short stories, poems, critical articles, reviews, and translations have been widely published. His most recent novels are Crowsong for the Stricken (2017), Mrs Saville (2018), The Artist Spoke (2020), and The Strophes of Job (2024). A collection of his stories and sonnets, Delta of Cassiopeia, was released in 2023. A Ph.D. in English studies, his scholarship includes The “Beowulf” Poet and His Real Monsters (2013), a trauma-theory reading of the Old English poem; and Trauma Theory as an Approach to Analyzing Literary Texts (2021). He is currently a lecturer in Lindenwood University’s MFA in Writing program, and he also teaches for Southern New Hampshire University. In addition, he has worked as a librarian for 25 years. Ted is the publisher of Twelve Winters Press and its various entities, including Twelve Winters Journal and the monthly podcast A Lesson before Writing, which he co-hosts with Brady Harrison and Grant Tracey. Like the poet Carl Sandburg, he was born and raised in Galesburg, Illinois.
